Event Summary: CAEL Annual Conference

The Council for Adults and Experiential Learning (CAEL) is a national nonprofit that supports working adults by acting as an intermediary between adult learners and organizations. CAEL provides expertise,  resources, and solutions for learners that help bridge the gap between higher education and the workforce.

Each year in the fall, CAEL holds a conference to connect educators, employers and community leaders to discuss different aspects of education and workforce alignment. The conference is available in-person as well as hybrid, making it accessible to all.

The conference tracks include:

  • Approaches to Skills-Based Learning Models
  • Data & Outcomes
  • Adult Learner Ecosystem Models
  • Adult Learner Engagement: Enrollment, Recruitment, & Retention
  • Education & Economic Recovery
  • Equity & Access
  • Workforce Talent Solution

The Founder of HigherEd Insight participated in the conference and presented within the “Equity & Access” track alongside Frank Essien of the Lumina foundation. They presented the findings from our report on adult learners, Persevering to Completion: Understanding the Experiences of Adults Who Successfully Returned to College, published in March of 2022.
